Chitlang is a typical Nepali village with a gorgeous set of homes and mountains surrounded by beautiful greenery. The trek takes to you to the Villages which have an ancient history and wonderful encounters with a mixture of natural beauty and cultural heritage.
Overview
The hiking starts towards the Chandragiri Hilltop a wonderful rendezvous that offers superb panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley. The overlooking valley view of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhadgaun, and many more thrilling Mahabharat hill ranges. In addition to that, the Himalayan ranges of Gauri Shankar and Annapurna are also seen. The next stop on the hike is Chitlang, an ancient Newari settlement in the Makwanpur district.
Chitlang is a nature’s playground, a wonderful greenery everywhere. The big meadows and lush jungle are appealing. Cultural history adds importance to its image. Different artistic monuments, pagoda roofs, and exceptional craftsmanship around the place offer a fascinating attraction. We then continue our hike all the way to Kulekhani dam on the second day. This place is famous for Indrasarovar, the largest manmade lake near Kathmandu. Boating and fishing-like activities have attracted visitors here for years. After this, we drive our way back to Kathmandu.
