Namobuddha- Balthali Hike is a scenic trek with a glimpse of cultural highlights trails. It is a pleasant countryside trek. The trek passes through beautiful settlements, farmlands lands, and religious heritages around Kathmandu. The temples, monasteries, and villages that we pass through en route is a chance to get immersed in the culture and lifestyle of people in Nepal. The trek is best suited for the family trek as any novice traveller of a family member can experience a pleasant walk. This 3 days trip outside Kathmandu offers an excursion through the spiritual Namobuddha Monastery, beautiful villages, and landscape on the way that takes you to the charming hamlet of Balthali.
Overview
We are dropped at Dhulikhel by our bus and we commence our hike to Namobuddha. Namo Budhha is one of the most significant Buddhist sacred sites. We visit the outstanding premises of Thrangu Tashi Yangtse monastery at Namobuddha. It is one of the most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in Nepal, this is the place where Shakyamuni Buddha was believed to have his body sacrificed himself to feed a starving tigress and her cubs 6000 years ago in his previous life.
The hike to Balthali village commences the next day. Balthali village is a beautiful location and a plain land region, surrounded by green hills, and provides the Himalayan panorama of Langtang, Ganesh Himal, and the Gaurishanker ranges.
The hike is too pleasant with the birds singing to you and the landscapes of agricultural lands are a joy to watch. The lifestyle of people is agricultural-based and they depend upon season vegetables and crops to live their daily life. The forest in these regions is unusual not so dense hence there is no wildlife besides squirrels and monkeys. The hike is highlighted by a lush green hill forest full of mystery. The aroma of the forest and the sudden silence that fills the atmosphere with the cool breeze of forest hills leaves you in a state of natural relaxation.
