Langtang valley trek is a unique trekking experience in a short time frame. The valley is one of the most beautiful, religious, and spiritual sanctuaries. The trek encompasses a slightly different reputation from that of other treks in Nepal. The trekking is tailor-made for those who seek soft adventures, stunning landscapes, views, and glaciers, and at the same time glance at human components. If you have just discovered trekking as one of your passion, as a novice traveler, or have very little time to go on a worthy adventure then the Langtang valley trek will be the perfect trek for you.
The final destination is Tserko Ri the high point of the Langtang trek at 4984m, where we will jubilantly enjoy the fantastic views of the upper Langtang valley, Glaciers and panoramic scenes of many 6000-7000m mountains like Langtang, Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Langtang II, Dorje, and one 8000m Shishpangma. Or if it is too much of an ask to complete the walk of 3-4 hours of steep ascending for you we will make up to the mini viewpoint just near Kyanji Gumba.
Overview
Just about 61km north of the capital city of Kathmandu, you will find a peaceful trekking place that is less traveled but holds the great privilege of quenching every traveller’s lust. The Place is an amphitheater of the natural displays of many mountains, glaciers, high ridges, ever-flowing mountain streams, beautiful meadows, forest, and natural sights that pleases you. Apart from the natural beauty it also exaggerates the human components in rich culture, traditions, and lifestyles. The trek begins with an introduction with the scenic view of the Trishuli River and later follows the banks of Langtang Khola River. The view of Lower valley is truly amazing. Crossing a suspension bridge with the gushing river, we reach the low belts of the hilly region and keep ascending to higher parts gradually followed by steep rocky trails. The trail emerges from the forest and a mountain looms on either side of the valley. The variation in climatic conditions from sub-tropical to alpine is great. There are colorful shades of beautiful rhododendron, pine, oak tree birches, and maple trees throughout the journey.
The trekking region is a little isolated and offers wonderful peace as most people opt for the mighty Everest base camp or Annapurna Base Camp. The majority of the trekking area is located in Langtang National Park. The wildlife abounds in the park’s ecosystem. Himalayan Pheasants, Himalayan deer, Himalayan bears, Langurs, and very rare red panda and snow leopard are native to this region however langurs and some Himalayan deer are the only animals we are likely to see.
The journey is interesting from starting to the finishing point, Immediately the symphony of gushing rivers and the thrill of crossing scary suspension bridges excites you. The trial is decorated with thundering waterfalls and streams, lush green subtropical forest, yak grazing regions, and later on the alpine zone via many culturally important places. As the valley widens the snow-capped mountains are fully visible in the background. The final stop is Tserko Ri where we will see 360 Degree Mountain ranges. Our overnight is at Kyanji Gumba where there is an ancient cheese factory, after a short visit to the cheese factory we move forward to the Kyanji ri peak to see the magnificent views of the underrated Himalayas of Nepal.
