A short trek that exemplifies that there is more from Kathmandu besides world heritages and monuments. A refreshing trip to Chisapani– Nagarkot is a perfect gateway to the mid-hill area. The trek is famous for viewing the Mountain ranges, soaking in the natural beauty of the environment, and enjoying hiking peacefully.
Overview
The trek initiates from a Shivapuri National Park Entry and a memorable walk on silent jungle roads is followed by a glimpse of the Bagmati River and streams here and there. A continuous hike offers an excellent viewpoint from where you can see Kathmandu Valley. While being close to nature you get to explore the typical village lifestyle, natural environment, and wildlife if lucky.
The Nagarkot Hill station offers the Himalayan panorama of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Ranges, Gaurishankar Himal, and also Mt Everest. The early sunrise is a must of Nagarkot as it exhibits a mesmerizing view of the first golden rays on the mountain given the weather is clear.
Finally, Our trek ends at Changu Narayan a Newari settlement, where there is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Nepal. A few hours in UNESCO World Heritage site and we drive back to Kathmandu.
