Panch Pokhari is a high-altitude wetland located in Sindhupalchowk District just about 89km North-East of Kathmandu. The rendezvous of five holy lakes has been winning every trekker’s heart recently. The pristine glacial lakes are located at an elevation of 4060m and are the source of many famous rivers. The beauty of this wetland is escalated by beautiful wildflowers, high beautiful ridges, and the magnificent view of mountains.

The high hills are alluring with antique rock formations and unexpected cascades fall from the top of the hills. The steep ascending is definitely challenging however the view of the valley from the high parts keeps getting more beautiful. The dotted houses, paddy fields, and beautiful rivers, all look spectacular from high points as we march upwards. You are welcomed with the carpets of colorful wildflowers as you reach the high lands.
The final destination of Panchpokhari is truly a magical place and many do not hesitate to call it a piece of heaven. The five holy lakes are of different shapes and each carries its own natural beauty. The views from a little upward hike from the lake we will see the view of lakes, with clouds floating beneath the valleys and mountains in the backdrop. The ranges o 6000m peaks Jugal Himal, Dorje Lhakpa, Madiya, Purbi Chhyachu are visible.
