Overview

Above the peaceful valley of Manang lies Tilicho lake. The lake is situated at an altitude of 4919m. Due to its altitude and size, it is considered the highest altitude glacial lake in the world. The lake is isolated and its remoteness adds another beauty to it. With an Oxygen level down to 62%, the altitude prevents us from advancing quickly so we reach the lake slowly. The temperature around the lake is very low and extremely cold winds blow, but the experience remains thrilling. The view of the lake is unbelievable.

You will be rewarded with a superb high-altitude view of both the lake and snowbound peaks of Khangsar and Nilgiri North. The playful acts of clouds moving around the mountains make good scenery. The trek starts and stops in beautiful places having different their own stories decorated with a beautiful culture. Throughout the trek, you will see ancient monasteries, temples, and a Prayer flag. The lake is auspicious for the Hindu and Buddhist religions and there is a statue of Lord Shiva and Lord Buddha on the side of the lake.
